The Difference Between Belly-to-Belly and Online Marketing
When you joined a home-based business or an MLM, your sponsor probably asked you to make a list of your friends and family. This is considered your "warm market." Then you probably called and invited them over to your house for a presentation or a get-together. This allowed you to introduce the fantastic opportunity or product you just bought into.
This way of marketing your product or opportunity is often referred to as belly-to-belly marketing. You already know or are getting to know many of these people on your friends and family list.
When your list dried up, your company or sponsor probably suggested that you practice the 3-foot rule. This is simply talking to anyone who stands at least 3 feet close to you when you are out and about. Again, you are physically meeting these people and telling them about your product or opportunity. Never mind that they may or may not be interested in what you'! re offering.
You may also have joined networking groups to try to expand your network of associates. This is just another form of belly-to-belly marketing. You physically have to be at these meetings to meet new people and exchange business cards.
All these belly-to-belly marketing techniques are time consuming and can sometimes squeeze your budget. It also limits how many people you can actually contact a day. Yet why are so many networking marketing companies and home-based business urging you to build your business the traditional way?
You can do research and find out that only 2% of anyone who employs these techniques are successful. That's a pretty low success rate. What about the other 98%?

Hundreds of thousands of people surf the net everyday searching for the! ir needs and wants. It's literally a bottomless source of lead! s.

This can cost you money if you do it the wrong way. There are free services so that even a beginner can get started without straining their budget.
Find someone who is a successful online marketer to mentor you in the process.
If you take the time and learn to market online, you will be more effective in reaching the masses that are waiting out there for you.
