Some Multilevel Marketing plans are legitimate. However, others are illegal pyramid schemes. In pyramids, commissions are based on the number of distributors recruited. Why Some Work At Home Programs Don't Work!

Work at home programs have grown in popularity in recent years. You have access to millions of people with access to the Internet.There are hundreds of programs to choose from and millions of everyday people looking to work from home. Why do some work at home programs not work out for subscribers? I don't claim to be an expert, but from my years on the Internet, experience as owner of a work at home web site; I will try my best to shed some light on this subject.

Every company whether it is an online company or traditional company has people who are unhappy after a purchase. There a more reasons than I can mention in an article on why this happens, but I am going to focus on a few that I have seen as an operator of and online web site. In fact the very thought of this article stems from feedback from users of my web site. Like any online business I sometimes get people who join a program through my site that find it is not ! a good fit for them.


What causes this to happen?

I have found that most of the time it's that the customers expectations such as their short-term goals, long-term goals, work expectations and skill sets do not match up with the programs they have joined.

One example of this is a frequent visitor of my site joined a Data Entry program and decided it was not a good match with his particular skill set. He emailed me telling me of his problem. After emailing back and forth I gave him some ideas to think about. He decided to try the rebate program and it was a good match for his skill sets and expectations. He emailed me back stating that he thought it was the best program on the Internet. Others will prefer the Data Entry opportunities to other programs. Makes sense?

What I have found with many programs is that it is very important to match the following criteria between the programs and the subscriber.

1. What income goals you may have?
2. Do you want to simply create some additional income o! r build and online business?

3. How much extra time do you have?

4. What do you feel are the skill sets that we need to match up?

5. Does the person have the necessary discipline required to work from home, i.e. there is work that will have to be done.

6. Does the person have the patience required, because some programs generate income faster than others, however all programs take some time before getting paid.

You see if these don't match up then folks will get frustrated and quit. There are more, but these are some of the important ones.

They may get frustrated and quit before achieving success if they are for example in a home based business program rather than a work at home program. Why?

The home business program, in my opinion, will create more income over the long-term and the time required on a weekly basis decreases. The problem is that it takes some time to get an online business up and running and profitable.

Many ti! mes people are looking for immediate income. Often time many will do a work at home program for income whilst building their online business. That's just one example, but my point it is that the more the type of program joined does not match up with the customers expectations, short-term, long-term and financial goals the more there is a chance for failure.

All of the programs will require some effort. If they claim you don't have to do anything then I would stay away, because it won't be true. There are plenty of these types of ads that can be seen daily online.

I sometimes get email from subscribers that get matched up with the wrong types of programs and I always try my very best to solve their problem if I can.

No one has a crystal ball and despite whatever research I may do some companies are not what we expect them to be and it's simply a bad program. We simply have to research as much as possible, revise our sites as needed and move on.

I! always encourage visitors of my site to send me feedback as t! o the pr ograms they join and their suggestions as to what types of programs we can add in the future. It helps me keep my finger on the pulse of the market place and it is one of the criteria I use when deciding whether a particular work at home or home based business opportunity stays on my site or not.

I get a lot of emails on a daily basis. I try my best to answer them all. I always enjoy the ones like the gentleman mentioned above. I may not enjoy the ones as much where a visitor is unhappy, but I appreciate their feedback and I try my best to help them when possible. Thankfully I have not received many of these. I don't care what anybody says it makes you feel bad when you are unable to help a person that has joined a program using your web site. It sure makes you work harder to ensure you have the best programs you can find.

It is not possible on many of the programs, but I always encourage my visitors to look for the money back guarantee programs when possible. ! This way if it's not a good fit you can request a refund. I try to include as many of these types of programs as possible on my site.

It is really gratifying when you can convert an unsuccessful endeavor into success by matching up the customer with the program that is best for them.

Because their main focus is on you selling their products and not on the time consuming task of education. When you switch your focus away from yourself and toward your prospect, it's called marketing. Those who market do well in network marketing. They understand that an audience is found, it's important to understand everything you can about them. How else are you going to really solve their problems?

In the United States alone, there are four major mindsets. Knowing where your contacts are coming from is a major piece to the puzzle that makes your overall business successful. A person saying "no" in California has different reasons than a person saying "no" in New York. Even though you dial your telephone for the same reason, everyone you reach comes from a different place. Understanding th! is requires a basic knowledge of how people respond from their repective areas, and why.


1. The East Coast Mindset
Living in the states east of Pennsylvania and north of Virginia, these prospects will most likely be your most skeptical, agressive and assertive. They are exposed to more opportunity to buy things than any other culture in the country. They like to punch first, and see how you stand up to them before giving you respect. They wear an invisible suit of armor to protect them from strangers. You have to work a little bit to get past their hard exterior in order to find their kindness inside.

East coast people will rarely tell you they need to speak with their spouse first because it shows a sign of weakness. Instead, they'll probably say something like "I need to think about it." 2. The Southeast Mindset
This area refers to people living in the area known as "The Bible Belt," south of Virginia and East Of Texas. They are very religious, so you may hear people saying things like they have to pray about your offer before giving you an answer. This doesn't mean you should hang up the phone on them. It means the same thing as someone telling you they need to speak to their spouse or think it over. Their attempt to seek inspiration from religion means that they really do want what you offer. They just need to go about it in a different way.

There are many poverty areas in the Southeast, so most of these prospects have no reservations about telling you they cannot afford your products or services. Although you are not in business to convince people they should spend money they do not have, be prepared ahead ! of time to show them how you can help them if they can find a way to pay for it. Chances are that they will see the value in what you say, and begin the process of figuring out how to save the money and get back to you.

3. The Midwest Mindset
People living west of Pennsylvania and East of Colorado are the most genuine and sincere with what they say. They aren't embarassed to confess that they need to speak to their spouse because to them it's a common courtesy. There is a bit more honesty in what they say because they haven't had the need to put on a suit or armor to protect themselves. They are less likely to give you a runaround. If they aren't interested, they won't tell you they need to think about it. they'll simply tell you they aren't interested.

Prepare ahead of time to handle objections. Those who live in this region are prone to ask questions if they are sitting on the fence of indecision. They aren't afraid to let you know they need assistance. ! The way of life here is a little more easy going and layed bac! k. Even though they are not as guarded as the East Coast mindset, they can sense a sales pitch just the same and they do not want to be pressured. Simply know how your products or services can benefit them specifically.

4. The West Coast Mindset
This refers to people living West of Colorado, specifically California. These people are mostly focused on their image, and how they can impress people to get what they want. They are out in the sun most of the time, and being a bit superficial is a way of life. They are most likely to flat out lie about why they do not want your service, because they do not want you to know they can't afford it. They'll tell you they don't have the time, or they are currently doing something similar, but the bottom line is that they have the same concerns as everyone else.

It's important to be empathetic with these types of people. Instead of feeling sorry for them, let them know you understand how they are feeling. Try to find a time in yo! ur past when you can relate to what they are saying in order to get a good understanding of where they are coming from. Focus on what is current with your product or company vs. how many years you have been in business or how many people you have helped. They are more likely to be interested in anything cutting edge or happening at the moment.

Knowing your audience is an essential ingredient to successfully grow a business and keeping it moving forward. Your mindset should be focused on whoever you are talking to at any given moment, not on yourself. Marketing is about finding an audience who has a demand for what you have, and then filling that demand with supply. Understanding this is what it takes to bring in 20-30 people a week into your business. It's been an interesting week. I'm spending today at home, making CDs in my home office. I've made over a hundred over the last two days, and have only just begun. There is a great demand for low budget Internet marketing strategies for small businesses.

I also have CD's and video tutorials that cover a wide range of topics from parenting, making biblical decisions, the biblical view of debt, how the old testament saints were saved...to the value of practical skills for your children, small businesses that kids can start, how to turn a recording into a product and is ebay right for you.


Additionally, home remodeling audios are in the works - as a contractor with 20 years experience, my specialized knowledge still comes in handy! How about you? Do you have specialized knowledge, information you could use to create your own business? Each and every month, I create new products, which are sold online. Recently, I was told, "You don't ! really do this yourself. You make money by telling other people how to make money. That's crazy!"

Actually, that's not true. I create products for many different niches and market them on the Internet. I can help you do the same thing.

There are many small businesses that kids can start, and many low budget Internet marketing strategies for small businesses. Find the one that works for you, and you too can become an Internet success.

I want you to pull up your web site and read through it with new eyes. Your job in an online business is not to build stunning websites online.

Strangers have only one question about your website -- "What's in it for me?" If your website does not explain the benefits of your product or service, your customers will move on without a second glance. Let's use an example from real life - a home study course. I could go on for hours about all the features of my new home study course, including the audio and video tutorials, the CD-ROMs, the manual and transcript, and more.


Big deal. Chances are, you don't care. And why should you? As a busy consumer, you want to know, "What can this course do for me? How will it improve my life?"

Then I could say it will teach you how to:

- Discover the most profitable niches for your business;

- How to create a profitable website

- Upload information to your websit! e, and get it on the Internet;

- Choose the right website;

- Register a domain name and find a web host;

- How to get new visitors every day!

- Create a shopping cart to make buying easier;

- Recommend other products, and make large commissions doing it;

- Develop a professional look and feel for your website.

Doesn't that sound better? Well, yes, but I'm still missing the point. I'm giving my clients good information, but I'm not truly giving them benefits. I need to put myself in their shoes.

Who is your customer? What do they want? Ask yourself a few questions about them:

-How will watching video tutorials about building web sites help them spend more time with their families?

- How will audio tapes on Internet marketing techniques help them escape from overwhelming debt?

- How will reading manuals and taking notes give them the freedom they desire?

If you take time to know your customers! , you learn what drives them. For example, customers intereste! d in my home study program want to be self-employed. They want to be free from debt, with enough cash to follow their passions. They want a better life for their children, teaching entrepreneurial skills for life long independence. You probably share some of these dreams.

So, what is the point of all this?

Many businesses list features on their webpage; that's fine, but you must understand your customers are not buying those features. They want to know the benefits, the ways that a product will help them. They are attracted to my home study course because they want financial independence. Listing the benefits will attract your customers' attention; they will read the list of features only after they understand the benefits.

Think of a commercial for a sports car. Do they ever talk about gear ratio, horse power, bucket seats, CD players, under coating or all that stuff? No, those are features. Car commercials sell benefits. You usually see a middle-age man lookin! g very successful, even smug, and he's burning down the highway. Of course, the highway's always winding along a mountain road down the coast.

They are not selling the car. They are selling how you will feel in the car. They are selling how you will look in the car. The only thing missing in those commercials is the man driving up to his high school reunion and getting gawked at by all the beautiful women that wouldn't go out with him 20 years ago!

I'm not saying you have to go that far. But I am saying that your website better answer the question, "What's in it for me? How will this e-book benefit me? How will this course benefit me? How will this video benefit me?"

I can show you how to make a web site, but so what? I have to show you how that course will benefit you. How it will create passive income so you get out from under that mortgage. How it will create a stream of income that may replace your day job over timet o that you can have more choice ! in when you spend time with your family. Or how it will teach ! your chi ldren a skill that will allow them to pursue their passions in life, combining work and passion.

That's more like it!

Mlm Training - How To Overcome The "no Time" And "no Money" Objection

If you want to be successful in building your MLM business you must know how to overcome many objections. Read this MLM training tip and learn the secret behind getting prospects over the "no time" and "no money" objections.

An anonymous person sent this great question to me from the Brilliant Exchange website.


A problem I face is: "How would you handle an objection based on not having enough money or time? These are the two I seem to get over and over. Thank you."

You are not the first to hear these objections!

Absolutely everyone who has ever come to me for MLM training has had to answer these objections from many prospects! These objections are what I call "common objections." Meaning you'll get them frequently. The reason they are common is because they are an "escape" for the prospect.

"Escape" from what?

Getting what they want. I know that seems odd - b! ut it's the truth.

Let me explain this better.

By the way, this is fully explained with examples in my MLM training CD Professional Inviter. I highly recommend you study the section on handling objections. You are at such a disadvantage if you don't fully know this information.

Envision this...your prospect has something they want or need - more time, more money, a boat, a plane, new golf clubs, etc. Why is it a "want" or a "need" to them? Because they don't have it yet. Why don't they have it? Because they can't get it on their own - obviously so, otherwise they'd have it! They need someone to help them get it.

This is where it gets very interesting so read closely!

The "escape" they've used before (to themselves and others) is "I don't have ______." The blank is filled in with some "phrase" that has always given them an escape because truthfully they don't believe they can GET WHAT THEY WANT.

Since this seems a little weird, let m! e give you an example (unrelated to MLM).

I was helping! a compa ny write a post card ad for their personal fitness training business. They were trying to get new clients. I asked several questions and finally came up with this ad:

"Sure you can get in shape on your own...but why haven't you? Admit you need help! Whether its knowledge or discipline, something is obviously missing otherwise you'd have the body you want. Let me help you."

You see, a person who "wants" to get in shape "pretends they don't need help." But they OBVIOUSLY DO! A person "getting" in shape is at the gym!

Now let me bring it back to MLM. A prospect says (in her mind as well as to you) that she wants a brand new car. Truthfully she doesn't really believe she can get it and she has proof she can't get it - because THERE'S NO NEW CAR IN THE DRIVE WAY!

This lack of belief is what causes prospects to state something like, "I don't have time."

When I was brand new in my MLM business, I brought a prospect to an opportunity meeting where ! the speaker was making $40,000 per month. After the meeting I asked Jim if he was ready to get started and he said, "I don't have the time." That was the strangest thing I'd ever heard. Why was it that he HAD time to make $1500 a month, but he DIDN'T HAVE the time to make $40,000 a month?

That mystery is what caused me to realize that "no time" or "no money" are not the real objections. If a person really believed they could make $40,000 a month they would ATTACK THE BUSINESS.

I was recently at a live MLM training event and someone came up to talk to me after I spoke and was telling me why they couldn't make the business work. All her problems had to do with not being able to properly talk with her prospects. I gave her some verbal solutions and she replied, "Wow that makes a lot of sense." I then told her about Professional Inviter, which teaches network marketers exactly how to effectively talk with prospects. Guess what she said to me? "I don't have the mon! ey."

Now - does she really believe she can learn to do ! the busi ness? No! For the cost of a shirt or two in her closet she could solve the reason she's failing in MLM. Instead she would rather use her escape.

See how it works?

So, the way you REALLY handle the objection is follow the objection handling remedy in Professional Inviter:

1. Listen completely through the question/objection.
2. Confirm understanding.
3. Make the question or objection valid to the prospect.
4. Handle or facilitate handling Questions and/or Objections.
5. Complete the handling and return to the previous step of the Inviting formula

The absolute key is step #4.

You do everything you can to FACILITATE handling the objection; instead of handling it for them. The prospect is one who decided on their escape - only they can remove it. I sincerely hope this MLM training tip helps you the next time a prospect tells you he doesn't have enough time, or she doesn't have the money.
