The Deadly Accurate Truth Why No One Cares About Your MLM Product
I am almost willing to bet that you have answered the phone when it rings and on the other end is someone who is trying to sell you something. You can tell it's a sales call immediately because the person on the other end starts going into their scripted sales pitch for whatever it is they are offering.
I have experienced this on countless occasions and I don't believe you are any different not to have experienced this type of phone call. You know this song and dance all too well.
When their sales pitch starts to kick in, you can tell almost immediately they are reading from some sort of script. This is probably a script that was handed down to them by their upline touting the great benefits of their "Super Deluxe" vitamins and how you can add years on to your life.
When listening to them, sometimes I just hang on for mere amusement.
Why would I do that?
No harm or no f! oul to them, I'm just amused at the fact they offer you no courtesy question as to if you have time for the call. Most times they don't even ask your name. They just want to get on with the call before you hang up on them.
What these callers don't understand is something that most don't understand when they are feverously trying to convince you their product is the best and to line up a sale.
This may come as a shock but it is the cold hard truth.
Nobody cares about the product. That is, prospects do not give a hoot about your product and it's "so called" benefits at all.
This is a common mistake all network marketers make especially when first getting started. Every marketer falls in love with the product and the opportunity that comes with it.
Let me explain further.
Every network marketer fails to learn the whole story as to why. They trudge forward reading some "so called" effective, duplicable script that has been handed to th! em from their upline.
Ultimately, the main thing that ! network marketers must do is think. They must put themselves in their prospects shoes and think from their prospective.
Here is the prospect's view:
- They have no idea who you are
- They don't know anything about your product
- They never heard of your business and
- To be quite frank, they don't care
In reality, all prospect really care about is what's in it for them. Prospects are totally taken out of the picture as network marketers do what they were initially instructed to do because that is what they were told would make their business flourish.
What does a prospect want then?
It's important to lend an ear and ask prospects what it is that matters to them the most. Inquire what it is they aspire to, what their dreams are or what it is they fear. Keep them as a focal point instead of the product and the sales pitch.
The fact of the matter is, the network marketer that actually knows the aspirations, dreams and fears of their p! rospects can position themselves for the greatest success. This is especially true when they can be offered tangible, real solutions to those dreams.
A good exercise for any network marketer to hone prospecting skills is to ask what are their own dreams, aspirations and fears when it comes to their business. By doing this, the future interaction with prospects will be more natural and less scripted. In the end, the prospect will be kept in the center while the sales pitch is out of the picture.
