Is Owning a Home Based Business is Right for You?

Is Owning A Home Based Business Is Right For You?

Discover If Owning A Home Based Business Is Right For You. So you've decided to try and earn money from home. Would you choose "The Best Home Business Opportunity" over an "Easy Home Based Business" when you are looking for a successful online business? How do you find the one that "Works"? How can you decide which company to trust. You will want to look for specific qualities when picking a company to join. Did you know that when you search "home business" on Google you generate over 2.3 Billion ( Billion not Million) results.

So how do you find the one that will work for you? And how do you begin to compete with all those already out there? Using this advice may save you hours of time looking in the wrong direction. Don't fall for the "Get Rick Quick" schemes. They will only leave a bad taste in your mouth and cause you to passing on a legitimate home based business. One that can supplement your current income and ! in time replace it, and if you stay long enough, give you the life you of your dreams.

People who succeed in working from home have done their homework, received coaching from mentors and believe in the process, the company, the products, the need and themselves. Do not search for a company, product or opportunity before you define your WHY. Yes, WHY. Why do you want to work for yourself? Why are you attracted to one niche over another. Why do you want to achieve time and financial freedom? What are your goals? Your dreams. Your vision of the future.

You want to set a goal big enough that in the process of achieving it you become someone worth being. *Jim Rohn*

Take the time to discover what you love. What's your passion.? Don't make the mistake so many others have by choosing a home business that doesn't take into account their personal interests. Even if the opportunity is realistic, profitable, easy or has a fast start-up. It is unlikely you will! be successful if you try to do something you just don't enjoy! . Your c hance of success is relative to the amount of time and effort you devote to it. If your "Why" is not big enough, or you don't believe in the product, the likelihood you will be successful is reduced dramatically. When you like to do something it no longer feels like work.

Time passes quickly with less effort and you remain enthusiastic. If your home business is something that doesn't really interest you, the demands on your time and energy will soon seem unbearable. You will lack enthusiasm and your productivity will fall. Before long you may find yourself saying things like "I guess Joe was right, these business really don't work". Sure enough, your business is doomed. So set aside some time to rediscover what you love and then seek out a business that you will enjoy doing for years to come.

Success is getting what you want. Happiness is wanting what you get. *Dave Garner*

When you love what you are doing people and prospects will be drawn to you. When ! money or income is your focus, both will have a tendency to just stay beyond your reach. Focus on your attitude. Do you have the proper attitude for success? If your mind is controlling your thoughts and your thoughts are controlling your actions, then control over those thoughts are another important key to your success. Attitude, if it's a good one, will take you faster to your goals. There are experts in this area. Find a mentor who helps you keep a positive attitude everyday. Look for this characteristic in those around you and those who may want to join you down the road.

Watch your thoughts, for they become words. Watch your words, for they become actions. Watch your actions, for they become habits. Watch your habits, for they become character. Watch your character, for they become your Destiny. *Unknown*

Now that you have found your why and realize the importance of a good attitude, you can focus on finding a company to join. Here are 5 important compon! ents in your decision process.

1. The Company Look at t! heir vis ion statement (if they don't have one, move on). What is their track record? Are more people joining than leaving. In other words, is the company growing? Are they debt free? You never want to join a company that may go out of business soon after joining. Read testimonials written by real people with positive results. (Read any negative ones too.) Leadership and Training is a key to success for any business. Make sure that you will have access to leaders by phone and email without having to jump through hoops or belong to some secret society. This is your business, but not to be done alone.

2. The Product/Service The company must have a product or service that is marketable. If the company does not have a product or service, move on, it is not a legitimate company. The product or service should be of good quality and unique to your marketplace or niche. I recommend if you yourself would not purchase the product and use it, even if there was not an opportunity with it,! keep looking. If you do not use the product or service yourself, you may find it difficult to market to others. Once you become a product of the product, it will tend sell itself. A money back guarantee is also important. It conveys that the product is so good that the company is willing to give the consumer their money back if they are not completely satisfied.

3. Need/Marketplace There must be a need for your product or service in the marketplace. If there is none, you may want to move on. If the product is unique or new, is there marketing behind it to get the attention of the marketplace. Does the product inspire you to think outside the box when it comes to marketing. If on your own you can think of several different ways that you could see yourself marketing the product, you may have a winner. Watch for new trends and catch them early. If you are getting in at the early stage of a hot niche, there may be bumps along the way, but once they are overcome, the sky! can be the limit. Does the company have a marketing system in! place. If you alone are supporting the marketing, be prepared to spend enormous amounts of money getting your product in front of the masses.

4. Compensation Every company that offers a business opportunity should have a compensation plan. You will want to know how you will be paid, when you will be paid, if your pay increases with good results, do you have to pass up sales in the beginning and is there more than one way to make money (is there opportunity to earn passive and residual income). A lot of new home business owners don't realize that they do not get paid for all the other things that they must do to operate their business, again you are in business for yourself and those other things are typical for any business owner. You will only get paid when you sell the product or service or sign up another person to sell the product or service. You may want to keep your day job until you are selling enough to be making a profit.

5. Timing Timing is everything. Don't! pick a product that has already saturated the marketplace. Don't pick a product that was popular in the past and obsolete in the future. You can expect great returns of your investments when the timing is right. Your timing is important. When you are mentally prepared to do what it takes to own your own home based business, you are putting the odds in your favor. Take your time deciding on the correct business for you. Do your due diligence. Invest the time needed to feel secure in your decision. The decision is ultimately yours to make, so you want to feel good about it.

In summary, start with yourself, your desires, your why, your purpose and goals. Then look for a reputable debt free company that is not making unrealistic promises. One that has a product or service which is needed or unique in the marketplace. You should like it and use it yourself. It should offer a guarantee and the timing should be right. If the product or service fits into these criteria, the! n feel confident in your selection. You may have just selected! the hom e business opportunity that you will feel good about and will assist you in making the income you desire.
